hello..

uhmm— im not sure how to go about this sooo…

well: i’ve been reading cards for about…5 years now.

i dont know everything there is to know, and i cant believe theres a specific amount of information to know about the tarot. alike with much else in the world.

information is vast and im the type to read and absorb it all. oh i love learning. i love helping people.

ive found myself recently to being an empath, clairvoyant tendencies im not sure…im still finding myself. hah

at anyrate: im curious if the ability to read the cards accurately is a generational gift. Is it something your born with? or can anyone just acquire its gifts?

example–ive been reading for only 5 years—and yet many of my readings, if not for myself then for my peers have been fairly accurate. i’ve researched my lineage and have found my grandmother had the same tendencies and gifts as well as her great knowledge in the tarot, though i never had the pleasure of meeting her. stemming further back i’ve found that a large portion of my roots stem from celtic ancestry as well as Angalo Saxon druidism. [saying this correctly?]

im the type to talk with the person after and before if not during each card reading. talk with them about what their feeling, how they react to the card in question—the meaning behind it or the fine lined answer if given one. you know?

and i’ve found, as well as my peers have found. that most of my readings seem to be pretty accurate. as well as they base some of their judgments and thinking off the reading, and have come to a positive juncture.

is this the art of divination? or the art of suggestion mixed with emotional willingness?

some guidance would be much appreciated. n__n

Thanks for visiting and leaving your comment. I will readily admit that I also am aware that I do not know everything there is to know, or even close. The good news, as you probably know, is that we don’t have to know everything. All the information we ever need is always available here and now, when we ask our higher selves.

I also love learning and helping people. I believe we are here to serve others. Your sentiments inspire me, and I expect, many others visiting the site, thank you again.

Now, on to your question, i.e., is the ability to read the tarot cards accurately a generational gift? I think the answer is multi-faceted. It will be a two-part comment. I hope others will share their comments as well.

First of all, anyone can read the tarot cards, and anyone can read them accurately. The difference between people who read cards accurately and those who don’t is generally based on how strongly the tarot card reader believes s/he can read the cards, combined with how “present” the card reader is at the time s/he is reading the cards.

The Belief of the Tarot Card Reader
If Jane doesn’t believe tarot cards can work, or believe in energy, it is obvious that Jane will not be able to read tarot cards accurately. Similarly, a card reader who has a lot of doubt about his/her ability will not have his/her energy in alignment with the tarot card reading s/he is trying to accomplish.

The Card Reader’s ability to be Present
I believe tarot cards are energy (just like everything else); and, hence certain cards will resonate with the questioner. The tarot cards that resonate with the question and the questioner are the cards that answer the question. When the cards are being cut, the tarot card reader will begin to resonate at that same energy of the questioner/question. The tarot cards that also resonate at that energy, and answer the question, will be drawn to the appropriate place in the deck. In order for this process to work, the tarot card reader must be “present” in spirit. If the tarot card reader’s energy is scattered, or s/he is energetically focused on his/her own problems; and/or the card reader is not grounded, s/he will not resonate at the questioner’s energetic frequency. The result will be a messy, chaotic reading.

Your experience interacting with the querent probably helps you be fully Present in the here and now when you are doing a reading for someone. Bravo. It also helps that your intent is to first help others and to serve.

Here’s the second part of my response to your question, is the ability to read the tarot cards accurately a generational gift? In the first part of the response, I mentioned that I believe that accurate tarot card reading ability derives from the card reader’s beliefs, and also upon his/her ability to be Present. In this comment, I will discuss how these factors may be generational, or passed down in families. I will also write about the importance of being Present for tarot card reading.

The Familial link in Beliefs and its importance for Tarot Card Reading

I believe there are multiple reasons why empathic ability, tarot card reading, and precognitive ability appear to genetic, or passed down in families. One of them is that what most of us believe to be possible is very close to what our parents believe to be possible. (For example, people living in northerwestern Europe have tended to be Christian, while people in the Middle East tend to be Muslim. This is because people transmit their beliefs to their children, not because Christ likes Europe and Allah likes the dessert). So, for the vast majority of humans, what we believe to be possible is based on our parent’s beliefs, colored by our own experiences.

Some cultures and some people’s belief systems are more amenable to allowing the existence of things like transmitting energies, empathic ability, and tarot card reading. So, if your grandmother was a tarot card reader, chances are that she believed in tarot cards, and also had a belief system that went along with the belief in the cards predictive ability. Perhaps some, or all, of these beliefs were transmitted to your parent (perhaps only subconsciously); and, then to you. So, because belief systems are usually carried down through the generations, and because the ability to accurately read tarot cards is based in part on one’s ability to believe that one can read tarot cards, tarot card reading will tend to be passed down through generations.

Now, perhaps you already know that we can expand our life’s potential, and our belief system by becoming a deliberate creator Hence, anyone can become an accurate tarot card reader, at least in this respect.

Genetic Component to being Present and its Importance to the Tarot Card Reader
The other potential genetic component or familial component to tarot card reading, is that certain types of thinking tends to go along with being Present. Being Present means not talking about or being conditioned by the past, and not thinking about the future, but being right here, right now. Those of us who are highly identified with our egos (the “thinking” part of us that some of us hear in our heads), often have a difficult time being Present. This is because when we are so focused on what our ego is thinking, which is a conditioned response based on past experience, that the majority of our energy is not on what is happening, or what is being said, in the now. This type of thinking may be passed down in families; but, also, this type of thinking is reinforced in our families. Being Present, here, now, is a huge part of the ability to read tarot cards (tell me if you agree!). Those of us who have family members who can stay calm, and present much of the time, will have an easier time doing it ourselves. This will lead to an easier time reading tarot cards

It will also cause us to be more likely able to help those for whom we read the tarot cards.
This is because now is the only time in which really we have any power. And, being Present allows us to interact with another in a way that can help him/her see and understand what s/he can focus on to best affect a positive result.
